Blissfully married (second try - picked a younger, quirkier one this time), left-wing (but raised in Alberta so I lean a little to the right at times), somewhat opinionated (hah!) mom to two daughters, Mitchie and Nyckee, Ima to Chaeli and Carson.

Carson owes me one

Well, not just Carson, but he was the immediate benefactor. We were babysitting this afternoon (Mr X, Mitchie and I) and minutes before Daddy was due home, Carson blew the stinkiest diarrhea diaper I have ever experienced. Ho-olah! I waited a few minutes to see if anything else was going to happen (Mitchie and Mr X were like, eeeeewwwwww! Make it stop!) then I ran him upstairs to his room to give him a change. He was just happy as a clam, singing and talking while I changed him, so it wasn't really all that bad. :P

It's been a lovely weekend -- Family Day, so we had today off, too. On Saturday I had Chaeli for a few hours. We went to the mall to buy her a Valentine present, then picked up some McD's for her lunch (Mima, I'm So HUNGRY!) and went over to Auntie Mitchie's for a visit. Then we went to DQ to see Mommy at her new job and had a sundae, then we came home and hung out for awhile until Nyk was finished for the day.

Yesterday I didn't do too much -- took Puddy out for his birthday burger (he's 7!) and did some much-needed housework. It was a nice, lazy day.

Today Mr X came home just for a few hours, to do some laundry and to touch base since we haven't seen him in awhile. He went with me to Nyk's to watch the kids for a few hours, then we had a quick dinner then he headed back to work. We all feel a little robbed -- it would have been lovely to have had him here longer. :(

Tomorrow it's back to work again. I've been SO busy lately, but that's partly because we're down to about half-staff because of holidays and sick-leave. Things are still kind of weird around there but I'm pretending it's all fine for now.

Mitchie was called for jury duty last week -- that was exciting! She wasn't selected, though -- they had enough for a jury before they got to her (nice to be a Y sometimes, hah), but she has to go back for another jury selection next month. Kind of crazy -- she had to take an entire morning off, and for her trouble the Court saw fit to mail her a cheque for $5.00. Kind of hilarious, but mostly another example of our tax dollars hard at work.

So, now we're half way through February. One more month and we'll be looking at Spring. I'm getting so excited about planting flowers again when the snow finally melts! We enjoyed our flower and veggie gardens so much last year. I've also been really bad about composting this winter (just TOO cold to be messing around outside more than necessary!) so I'll be happy to get back into that. My composter was so nice and steamy last year, so I hope it doesn't take too long to start cooking again in the Spring.

And your composter had a lovely flower or two. I was impressed. DJ
